Faulkner’s Folly – Carolyn Wells – 1920

Description:

Eric Stannard the wealthy successful portrait painter, was found murdered in his studio. His dying cry was heard by Mrs. Faulkner as she descended the staircase. At her command the footman entered and turned up the lights on the darkened room. The artist was seen seated stabbed by an etching needle, and at either side of him fainting with terror and overcome with dread were his wife and his model. Who committed the crime? Roberts the detective tried in vain to solve the mystery but Alan Ford succeeded.
